Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced InterSystems Caché / ObjectScript developer with hands-on knowledge of RPMS or VA healthcare systems. The role involves data extraction, transformation, and system enhancements within federal healthcare technology environments.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and support applications built on InterSystems Caché, MUMPS and related technologies
Perform data extraction from RPMS/VistA systems for migration, reporting, and integration purposes
Analyze existing routines, globals, and database schemas
Support integration with downstream systems (HL7, SQL, FHIR, etc.)
Troubleshoot production issues in clinical and administrative modules
Work closely with functional teams, business analysts, and VA/RPMS SMEs
Must-Have Skills
Strong hands-on experience with InterSystems Caché ObjectScript
Experience with RPMS (Resource and Patient Management System)
OR VistA / VA systems
Understanding of FileMan, PCC, Billing, Pharmacy, Lab, or other RPMS modules
SQL & HL7 knowledge for data extraction/integration
Good debugging and code optimization skills
Good to Have
InterSystems IRIS platform experience
FHIR implementation exposure
U.S. Healthcare domain knowledge (clinical workflows, EHR systems)
Exposure to modernization of RPMS/VistA to Cerner or other EHRs
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
